Flower Tales Wheat Germ Extract is a powerful bioactive ingredient naturally extracted from the Triticum Vulgare plant cultivated in Italy.
As a depegmenting agent, it is effective at treating dark skin blotches caused by photoageing: it functions as a bio-messenger to melanocytes delivering the correct “information” and rebalancing the melanin biosynthesis process. Dark spots on the skin due to sun damage become less perceptible, giving a more uniform complexion. Our supplier’s tests have shown a 24% reduction of blotch colour intensity and a 31% reduction of the total affected surface (achieved by using an after-sun lotion with 5% wheat germ extract. for 56 days, twice a day). Flower Tales Wheat Germ extract is characterised by a high content of glutathione. Glutathione is one of the most powerful anti-oxidant agents: it is a vital element for healthy cells as it reduces oxidative stress and counteracts lipid peroxidation (deterioration of lipids by free radicals). It also contains high concentrations of glutathione-disulfide reductase, and enzyme that protect cellular membranes, it maintain healthy levels of cystein (another antioxidant) and helps regenerate vitamins C, E and PP.
This makes it an incredibly powerful anti-ageing ingredient, but its benefits to the skin are not limited to this: it has moisturising, emollient and humectants properties and protects the skin by strengthening its natural function as a barrier against external agents.
Used in hair care products, it has film-forming properties that protect, condition and give volume to hair.
Wheat Germ extract also stimulates the synthesis of collagen fibres by fibroblasts, helping prevent scars from cuts, ulcers or bedsores.
FLOWER TALES QUALITY: Flower Tales What Germ Extract contains 150μg of glutathione and 150 mU of glutathione-disulfide reductase for each ml of finished product. These high concentrations make this product more similar to an active ingredient than a mere extract, as it is used in much lower quantities.

Solubility: Water Soluble
DOSAGE: 3-5%. Add to cold emulsions (C phase). Stable at a 5-8 pH range.
