Sodium Dehydroacetate – 25gr / 50gr

Flower Tales Sodium Dehydroacetate is a well tolerated organic preservative with antimicrobial and anti-mold properties. It is effective against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. It is synthesised in the laboratory and is 100% pure.

Dosage:

0.1-0.2% (Max 0.6%) in Phase A (water)
Active in emulsions with pH between 5 and 6.5
Soluble in water (330gr per litre at 25°C)

How to use:

Each preservative has a specific function and it is therefore often necessary to use a combination of 2 or more preservatives to safely stabilise homemade cosmetic preparations. Sodium Dehydroacetate is normally combined with Benzyl Alcohol or alternatively with both Potassium Sorbate and Sodium Benzoate.

EXAMPLE OF USE AS A PRESERVATIVE:

In 100gr of finished product, add to Phase A (Water) 0.15g (0.15%) of Sodium Dehydroacetate and 0.5gr (0.5%) of Benzyl Alcohol in Phase C once the emulsion is cold. Also see Ecobio Guard.
